BQT and FFA Training for Users
October 26 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The De-bushing Advisory Service (DAS) is currently carrying out a series of Training as Trainers (ToT) and user training in Bush Biomass Quantification Tool (BQT) and Feed Formulation Application (FFA). The BQT was developed with the aim to help farmers with correct bush biomass quantification and sustainable bush thinning in order to achieve rangeland restoration and add value to bush biomass products. The FFA is aimed at guiding users on formulating affordable and nutritional balanced rations, lowering the risks posed to animals when bush feed is formulated on a trial-and-error basis.
This training for users is recommended for active farmers, BCBU workers, SMEs, and researchers in bush harvesting, bush biomass value chain production, and processing.
The training will grant the user access to very limited but critical know-how in order to assist them in producing correct bush-based feed rations by using the FFA. With an increased demand for biomass utilisation, the training on the use of the BQT will enable the user to estimate the harvestable biomass resource in a non-destructive manner hence ensuring sustainable harvesting and utilisation of bush biomass resources in Namibia.
