Emerging Farmers rangeland workshop

Rangeland Coordination Unit (RCU) in collaboration with MAWF (Ministry of Agriculture Water & Forestry) held a rangeland management workshop,were about 45 emerging farmers from Omaheke region representatives attended and  were given principle guidelines of rangeland management as outline the Rangeland policy and strategy .

The farmers were as introduced to DAPEES (Directorate of Agricultural Production, Extension and Engineering Services) extension officers and within their areas  who provide them with extension services. A presentation on bush encroachment in Namibia  and the role of the De-bushing Advisory Service in providing farmers with information on bush control was given by Progress Kashandula . The workshop was a two day workshop of which on the  first day was on presentation towards implementing the Objectives of the National Rangeland management policy and strategy and open discussions .On day two ,the farmers visited the veld ,which was based on presenting the best rangeland practices and how to deploy them.
